Peculium

Summary

A largely uncharted solar system currently consisting of only a handful of planets (5 in total), including Solum, the planet on which the adventure takes place. The solar system has been dubbed as "Peculium", roughly translated to "The Savings", due to an old folklore tale about a mighty battle between gods from different origins, with this solar system being the only one that was left when the dust settled.

Description of planets

Very little is known about planets other than Solum but there are some details that have been collated here. The accuracy of these facts are disputed to some degree depending on who you ask or which folklore tale you listen to.

Celeste

Celeste; The sun of the solar system. It is named Celeste, which translates to "Heavenly", because of how bright it looks in a clean way instead of the usual fiery ball that sun could be. Some stories tell the tale of Nebula Loci, a special kind of sentient creatures rumoured for their rare appearances on planets beyond Celeste.

Solum

Solum; An Earth-like planet, where 65% of the planet is considered water. All normal laws of physics apply unless magic can specifically alter it. The planet has 6 specified continents, filled with multiple different cultures, kingdoms and clans of monsters. The seas are not particularly owned by anyone, but instead, there are certain races and monsters that have formed civilization sized groups which move around like nomads.
Additionally, there are 4 seasons every year; Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.

Zuhal

Zuhal; A planet that resembles the fiery heats of mercury in terms of how close it is to Celeste. These fiery heats are additionally supported by the severe amount of tectonic plate movement causing the creation and destruction of volcanoes on a daily basis.

Ma'adim

Ma'adim; A planet that is covered for 99% by water. There are tales that when a mermaid dies, its soul goes to Ma'adim in order to rest for eternity. There is a large number of creatures, good and evil alike, that call Ma'adim their home. These creatures have a strong connection to the nomadic civilizations that inhabit the seas of Solum.

Dzuwa

Dzuwa; A planet that seems shrouded in a perpetual dust storm, making it really hard to study its surface. Most folklore believes that the sandstorms are caused by an unending war that takes place on the surface of the planet, however, the participants of the unending war are disputed by many. Some believe that several cabals of desert hags are fighting to gain an ancient form of power and others believe that there are gargantuan sandworms who are writhing around the surface of the planet to hide their other nefarious plans.

Amictus

Amictus; A planet that is not often observed by the traditional stargazers due to the fact that most don't even realise it is there. Amictus consists of a dark purple colour for the surface of the planet, which means that unless you are specifically looking for it, it can be in the night sky, perfectly blending in with its background. Many stories around Amictus suggest that the planet is home to the more nefarious races and monsters that exist. These stories are generally based on rumour and imagination as those that have first-hand experience with monsters from Amictus, generally do not live to tell the tale.
