Mark of Detection
The Mark of Detection is an inquisitive’s dream. It sharpens powers of observation and intuition, allowing the bearer to draw connections and interpret clues others might miss. By actively drawing on its powers, the bearer can detect poisons and study the energies of magic.
Prerequisite Half-Elf ancestry
You have manifested the Least Mark of Detection somewhere on your body. This likely earns you entry into House Medani if you were not already a member.
You gain the Detect Magic cantrip if you do not have access to it from some other source (such as class or ancestry). A cantrip is heightened to a spell level equal to half your level rounded up. In addition, you gain a +2 circumstance bonus to your Seek action to discover hidden creatures or to discover objects (including secret doors and hazards). Lastly, your Seek attempts to discover hidden creatures are made in a 60 ft. cone rather than a 30 ft. cone and your attempts to discover hidden objects are made in a 30 ft. cone rather than a 10 ft. square adjacent to you.
Special You can’t select another dedication feat until you have gained two other feats from the Mark of Detection dedication.
Prerequisite Mark of Detection dedication
You gain the Detect Poison spell as a Focus Spell. Increase the number of Focus Points in your focus pool by 1.
Prerequisite Mark of Detection dedication
You are difficult to surprise. On the first round of combat, consider your Perception rolls for Initiative to be 2 higher than normal when determining surprise.
