The time of piracy is now and always. Ships roam every corner of the waters, and only the very richest can afford to live atop the sparse land that makes up the less than 1% of the world's surface. Ways of life are varied; some live on platforms built around the trees which grow up from the Ocean's floor, others on floating cities that bob along the ocean wherever the current takes them, some still call ships their home, forever sailing from Port to Port and racing the sun on the horizon. And where there is an ocean, there will always be pirates. Some bloodthirsty bandits out to take the world's riches. Others bandits for hire, ensuring safety for the right amount of coin. And some who, honestly didn't intend to end up as pirates but we kind of have a lot of people on this ship and it's pretty big so we're a target now I guess?
