Dwarves (pending edits)

The first of the modern races to emerge, the dwarves are a short, hardy folk born from the stone itself. Their heights average out at a perfect 4’, and their appearances are all largely masculine. Both genders are capable of, and pride themselves in, growing immensely long beards. It is almost unheard of for them to cut any of their hair so long as they still live within their cities; however, the rare few that do choose surface life tend to prefer being bald. Dwarves are unable to to possess the Gift, as their cursed trapping within Parthalan rather than on her surface has forever prevented their attachment to arcana. Most of this race are warriors, though dwarven rogues are not unheard of. All dwarves have a natural talent for stone and metal working, and it is impossible to find a more masterful blacksmith outside of their ranks. Their greatest pride lies in their inventions, as they are also masters at engineering. They are not all work and no play, however, as they are notorious for their drinking. Dwarves have the hardiest, thickest bodies, and alcohol resistances to match. This natural hardiness extends to their life spans as well, granting them around three hundred years on average.
