The Divine Oath
Following the Divine War, the gods made a declaration to the universe, a call heard in all planes. It was an oath for them to never physically leave the Outer Planes again. They would still communicate with their followers, but not physically intervene or grant material boons in another realm. It was left in record on a stone tablet in the middle of the world, atop Mount Ascendancy, and quickly copied.
Written in Common, it reads:
'We, the Gods of the Universe, Swear together that We never shall enter Domains beyond the Great Planes. We shall never enter these Domains beyond the Great Planes in manner material, in Transcendence of Body or Transcendence of Influence. So we Swear all Eternity.'
