Arder River

The Spring of the river Arder is deep within Faalgrond Forest. Most of the water of the Arder comes from the Eastern Mountains although it only comes to the Surface within Faalgrond Forest. Snaking its way through Faalgrond Forest the Arder slowly grows until it reaches the Great Planes central to Pannotia. Flowing eastward through the planes the Arder appears to keep the size it has when it Leaves Faalgrond Forest. On the Great Plains the Arder flows into the River Amnis.   Geopolitical importance: Although the Arder doesnt mark the border between the Northern and Eastern Kingdoms, the Eastern Kingdom cant project its military power north of the Arder. The People living north of the Arder dont feel strong affiliation with either of the Kingdoms and have Historically been left to their own devices in Peacetime. Unlike the Amnis the Arder is not Used for large scale shipping as there are no big towns on the Arder and Faalgrond Forest is only populated by a few Hunters as well as the Monks in the Temple of Noah.   Religios Importance: Near the spring of the Arder Is a Temple worshipping the Giant Noah who is said to have died there. Making a pilgrimage up the Arder and to this temple is very popular among people believing the old Tales and the existence of the 7 Giants.       Back when Giants Walked on Earth, when Pannotia was formed by the 7 Giants. The Giant of the Forest Noah had a Disagreement with Wren, the Giant of The Eastern Mountains. The Eastern Mountains had rocks and boulders Falling down its slopes, destroying many Trees and killing many animals. Noah complained often about this to his Sister Wren but She would just shrug it off. After a particularly Strong Storm Led to Vast landslides Noah burst out and Attacked Wren But Just Like Stone is Harder than Wood Wren was Stronger than Noah and When Wren Fought back she Killed Noah on the Spot. Even though Wren didnt intented to kill Noah Wren also felt no remorse for what she had done. After all the Mountains are unforgiving. When Noah fell the the Ground he bled heavily and his blood made its way through Faalgrond Forest onto the Great Plains and eventually to the River Amnis thus Creating the River Arder.
