Grand Duchy of Shatebonfia

The Grand Duchy of Shatebonfia

The Grand Duchy of Shatebonfia are all that remains of the kingdom that was subsumed by The Ghostfordian Incursion. Managing to hold the line at the narrowing of the of the land where the lowlands of Ghostfordia began to rise into the mountains and hills of Shatebonfia.

The passes and winding roads and trails meant that the Shatebonfians were able to outmaneouvre the Ghostfordians until winter settled in, wherein the Ghostforians gave up their attempts to take the conquer and returned to consolidate rebellions that were springing up.

The Grand Duke, who had been granted the title of Protector of Shatebonfia by the other dukes consolidated power, ousting the old king to the Ghostfordians alongside his family to remove rivals to his power. The Grand Duke set about setting a truce between the Ghostfordians and Shatebonfians to some success. Shatebonfia then turned its attention inward.

In recent times the Duchy's biggest existential threat is the Curpeakian Empire to the west, and frequent border skirmishes break out.
