Pangiera

Many hundreds of years after present day, a comet crashed into the Pacific ocean. From the comet, an unidentifiable material seeped into the water, and was swept along and washed across the continents inside of massive waves. The after affects of the sweep induced a cataclysmic event, that caused the continents to shift together, back to their original form as Pangea. Most life was wiped out across the newly merged continents. What survived, mutated, gaining magic-like abilities, with new races sprouting from mundane bases. Many earthly animals survived with new adaptations, but otherwise mainly unchanged. However, the human race completely vanished, as their adaptive DNA was quickly taken over by the mutations, leaving no old world humans within a few years. Many thousands of years later, the living organisms of the new Pangea, now called Pangiera regrouped, and re-developed advanced societies and diverse culture built overtop the ashes of the late human race.
