Strawmunculi

Animated straw, able to complete basic tasks. Cheap ones are like scarecrows, loose straw in clothes able to carry out basic looped tasks, like fairgrounds animatronics. More expensive ones are woven, often reinforced, and able to carry out more complex tasks. All gradually break apart and collapse, lasting at most a few months. As they collapse/take damage they become erratic and often have to be destroyed early as they go out of control.

Common in many farming areas, such as The Giteri (where they can often sometimes fly) and pre-drought Mattiha river valley.

Rarely, they are given armour and militarised. however, their proliferation allowed the food surplus required to support standing armies in The Giteri, which was a contributing factor to the Giterikin Civil War.
Controlled/powered by an intricate "heartweave".
Sort of a zombie stand-in.
