A sziget valaha virágzó mezőgazdasági paradicsom volt. A Lélekhadjárat alatt a palkadinok a védelem érdekében felperzselték a földet.

Gazdaság

Mezőgazdaság

A föld felégetése ugyan tönkretette a termőföldeket. A paladinok varázslata mélyen beivódott a földbe, ezzel megakadályozva a rendszeres termelést. Néhány szívósabb fafajta azomban életben maradt. Ezek a fák, bár csak korcsos elfajult paródiái az ősi erdőknek, a hiány és a nélkülözés azonban megtanította a sziget telepeseit a korcsos fák felhasználására is. A fák törzse sokkal tömörebb mint más fáknál, és szívósabb is. Mind építkezéshez mind hajógyártáshoz remek alapanyag a megfelelő feldolgozás után. A feldolgozás azonban költséges és hosszú munka, így az itteni faanyag rendkívül drága.

Ipar

A sziget hegysége rengeteg ásványi kincset rejt magában. A bányászat nagyon jövedelmező vállalkozás lenne, ha a hegyekben rejtőző rémek nem zarhatnák folyamatosan a bányászokat. A bányászás a szigeten legalább annyira harci feladat mint fizikai munka. Pontos felderítés és megfelelő védelem nélkül könnyen elveszhet az ember. A bányászok inkább kalandozónak számítanak mintsem rendes hétköznapi munkásoknak.

A hősies bányászok álltal visszahozott alapanyagokat a kőművesek, kohászok és a kovácsok a városokban finomítják és teszik használhatóvá. Egy kovács a szigeten olyan hétköznapi látvány, mint egy paladin Valdemarteban.

Fegyveres

A szigeten kószáló gonosz lények gyakran zargatják a telepeseket. Ezek ellen mind az utazó kereskedők, mind a városok előszeretettel bérelnek fel zsoldosokat. A legbőségesebben azonban a bányászok fizetnek a fegyveres szolgálatért. Nemcsoda hiszen mind közül ez a legveszélyesebb munka.

Néha a falvakban és a városokban lehet találni különlegesen veszélyes lények fejére kiírt vérdijat.

Hiány

A szigeten hiánycikk az élelmiszer és a mezőgazdasági termék. Olyannyira nagy a hiány, hogy a városok lakossága hamar éhenhalna a kihalt vidéken ha nem kapnának a királyságtól rendszeressen ételszállítmányt. A tengeren elvesző vagy késlekedő utánpótlás szállítmány sokszor kényszerítette nélkülözésre a sziget lakóit. Ilyenkor a fekete kereskedelem, és az alvilág hamar a rászorulók segítségére siet (persze megfelelő kamattal).

Lakosság

Régen

A sziget eredeti lakossága az [esemény] után teljesen kihalt. A paladinok varázslatának pusztítása még sok helyen látható, összeégett soha el nem oszló csontkupacok, és leégett városromok képében.

Most

A jelenlegi lakosság a két telepesváros telepeseinek leszármazottaibül, az ide vetődött barbárokbül és a partra sodrüdott hajó nélküli kalózokbül áll. Néha napján paladint is lehet látni a szigeten, de ez ritka jelenség. A békefenntartást a király hadserege végzi, bár a helyőrségek vezetői (és természetesen a többi katona is) rendkívül korrupt, és csak a saját érdekükkel foglalkoznak.

Gonosz

A Lélekhadjárat után sok évtizedig nem találkozott senki gonosz lényekkel. Azonban ahogy telt az idő egyre több helyen bukkantak fel, és ütöttek rajta a telepeseken. Nem lehet tudni hogy a paladin varázslat gyengült meg, vagy más szigetekről tévedtek ide a lények. Egy biztos dolog van. A támadások egyre gyakoribbak és egyre erősebb ellenfelekkel kell küzdeni.

The island used to be a thriving agricultural paradise. After the Soul Crusade the paladins burned the ground to prevent any new attack.

Economy

Agriculture

The burning of the lands destroyed the cropfield. The paladin magic seeped into the ground and made it infertile. However some of the touhest speaces of tree survived. Tough these trees are grotesque jokes compared to the forests from before, the necessity and the poverty tought the pioneers to make good use of the degenerate trees. The trunks here are more dens than on other trees, making it more durable. This makes the wood an excellent material either for building, or for shipwork, after the prober preparations. These preparation works are long and expensive, thus making the product realy valuable.

Industry

In the mountins there can be found many minerals and riches. Mining these would be really profitable ifthe evil lurking in the mountins would not bother the miners. Mining in the island is more of a military campain instead of a simple manual labor. Without proper scouting and sufficent defense force, there can be lots of missing persons cases. Being a miner also makes you an adventurer instead og a regular worker.

The minerals mined by the heroic miners, are refined and worked to usable materials by the miners, metalurgist and masons in the cities. A smith on the island is a common sight, almost as common as a paladin on the streets of Valdemarte.

Military

The evil lurking on the island and often trubles the cities and the setlers. To prevent the attacks, both the merchants, and the cities likes to hire mercenary guards. The most gainful job is to contract with a miner, as an armed guard. No wonder, because this is the most dangerous job as well. There are also bounty in some places, for the head of some sereously dangerous monster.

The food and the agricultural products are scarse on the island. This shortage, is so sever, that the population requires regular food transpot from the kingdom in order to feed the people.The lost or missing shipments many times forced the citizens of the island to reduce rations. In these times the black market thrives and the underground organisations are eiger to help to dose in need (for the proper intrest of course).

Population

Historic

The original populace of the island is compleatly wiped out in the [esemény]. The destruction of the paladin magic can be seen in many places as burned never decíying sceletons and charred ruins of old cities.

Now

The current populace is the descendant og the setlers of the two great cities, wandering barbarians, or washed ashore pirates without a ship. Sometimes a paladin appears somever near the island, but it is not a common occurance. The peacekeeping is done by the rolyal army, however far from the capital the leaders (and the soldiers as well) are highly corrupt, only intrested in themself.

Evil

After the Soul Crusade many years passed Without anyone metteing any evil creature.As the time goneon however, ever more and more showed up and disturbed the setlers. Maybe the Paladin magic got weeker, or the creatures was wased ashore from other lands. One thing is shure, the attacks are ever so frequent and stronger with each day.
