Majitir (madg-it-eer)

The Majitir is the equivalent of king or ruler. The Majitir usually signs laws or documents requested by the people. The Majitir is chosen every 4 years towards the end of the year. The Majitir is selected by the people themselves. The session begins with voting of every citizen, including children. The first session of voting starts with 10 candidates. Depending on the number of votes for each candidate, the ones with the top 5 highest votes remain as possible rulers. The rest are disqualified. The second session is the same, but with only 5. The 3 with the least amount of votes are disqualified, leaving only 2 participants left. To determine who will become the Majitir, the two candidates take part in a duel, where injuries are allowed, but not death. The one who leaves with the least injuries becomes the Majitir.

Qualifications

Must be older than 20, and must have gone through a political school or class on politics and government. He must submit his papers proving that he has been through political school and/or government school. If he is approved, he will become a candidate.

Requirements

He must be Glorinian by blood, has to be 20 years or older. He must have lived in Glorina at least 10 years.

Appointment

The title is bestowed by the high priest, and after a ceremony, the Majitir will become the Majitir or ruler.

Duties

Passing laws, providing proper homes for people, etc.

Responsibilities

He will be informed of any concerns of the country, i.e. a famine.

Accoutrements & Equipment

He will wear 2 gold rings with special symbols carved into them, one on both ring fingers. He will hold a staff with a symbol of his tribe, or ancestors tribe.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

The Majitir may be removed if he is treating his people tyrannically, doings things against the law. If he is reported for one of these things, he will be sent to the court to be tried. If the person who accused the Majitir of doing these things, the accuser must give proof of what the Majitir has done. If the Majitir has not been found to be guilty of any of these accusations, the accuser may be sentenced to prison or even death.
