The Felroth

Prompt: A group who advanced crop cultivation   __________________________     The Felroth were hunter-gatherers who lived along the Felroth River and were the first of the six people to settle because they had better water for growing crops. The Felroth began by hunting wild boars and collecting ancient stone fruits in the Gryd Woods. Historians believe that over time the tribes began to travel towards the Felroth river to form settlements. Historians believe that the people discovered that the seeds of plants could be planted and, if tended to, could produce enough food for more than one person. Like the Aecors, the Felroth did interact with other settlements. Over time, the Felroth began to farm wheat and other grains, while they continued their gathering of fruits that grew on trees, such as figs and peaches. Around 5000 BCE, the Felroth began to grow carrots, potatoes, and beans as their main source. Although potatoes were more difficult to grow in their warmer climate, the Felroth still grew them because they could keep them in the ground during the winter so that they had food in cold weather. They also did this technique with carrots and sweet potatoes. Although grapes and olives were still grown, in 4000 BCE they became a large part of the Felroth growing amount of vegetation they cared for. Over time, Felroth began to ferment the grapes creating an assortment of wines. The first record of wine was in 3450 BCE in a small town that had been burned down, historians are still unsure what was the cause of the fire. With the creation of the wines, vinegar was created, which would, later on, become one of the most exported goods in the country along with herbs, tea, cotton, wine, and salt. Later on, the Felroth invented vodka with the same techniques they used to create wine but instead used wheat.   Transportation The Felroth walked for most of the centuries before coming into contact with other tribes but did begin to use horses and oxen near 2500 BCE for farming. During the years before meeting the Aecor, the Felroth developed basic saddles which allowed them to ride horses. With this development, the Felroth began using horses for transportation which allowed them to carry several items to trade with the Aecor when they connected in 2231 BCE.   Religion The Felroth believed in the Phoenix only until coming into contact with the Aecor and adapted to their religion and their writing system. Although the Felroth adapted the Aecor’s religion, they believed the Phoenix was the King of the seven great gods, not the Kelpie. The Felroth had a similar belief of a born child was chosen by the king, but there was the first boy child born after the last chosen dead. The people believed the soul of the chosen was reborn like the phoenix to protect and pass on old wisdom. He has no marks, but the Felroth would go from tribe to tribe and keep a record of every pregnancy when the chosen was close to death. When the chosen dead the people would bring the firstborn child based on the pregnancy and report when the child was born. The actual time of the chosen would be reported after the new chosen was discovered. The Felroth called their chosen, the Saiburt, which means the reborn soul in their old language.
