Suggested Templates: Settlement, Ethnicity, Timeline Tags: #history #ritual #culture Written By: @Barbarossa#7361 ___________________________________   Prehistoric Era In the prehistoric era, the land of Pacellum was populated by six tribes which would not make contact until 2000 BCE. (By 1000 BCE all the groups of people had the same writing system, language -of course with dialects-, and religion.)   The Aecors The Aecor or Ocean People, was the largest tribe in the Pacellum area and will be the first tribe to create a written language and interact with other tribes for trade. The Aecor lived along the northern shore or the land and resided mainly near the Vyriq Gulf during the cold seasons. With the discovery of an old Aecor civilization, historians believe that the Aecor's ate fish and clams as their main source of food. It is unknown why the Aecors decided to settle, but historians believe that the people developed a way to use nets to catch more fish in one place and because of that convenience they settled into one place to better ways of catching seafood. Over time, a writing system was developed along the shore. Historians are able to track to a written system to 3500 BCE. Further discovery of old civilizations has shown that the Aecors may have had a form of writing before, but historians do know that writing did not become a well-practiced skill until 3500 BCE. The writing was mainly used to document food amounts that the tribe had and spiritual documentation. With the documentation, historians were able to determine what the Aecors ate over the years. In approximately 3350 BCE, the Aecors started to eat squid and octopus; the largest squid for each catch was thrown back as a sacrifice to the sea god, Kelpie. In the year 3201 BCE, the Aecors began to use boats to travel along the shore to catch many aquatic creatures, such as seahorses and blowfish, and transport them along the strait. Transportation The Aecors traveled mainly on foot, but when boats began to be used more frequently, boats began to be used as transport from tribe to tribe. They developed a route that bounced off the shore close to the larger villages so that trade and transportation of people became faster.   Religion The Aecor believed in seven great gods, The Griffon, The Elf, The Pegasus, The Phoenix, The Wyrm, The Dragon, and The Kelpie. The Aecor believed in minor gods such as The Dwarf and The Unicorn. They believed the minor gods came to earth to create different species out of spite of the great gods creation of the human and that is how unicorns, dwarfs, orcs, and other monsters are believed to walk the earth. The Aecor worship all the seven gods, but they believed the Kelpie was the King of the gods because they lived by the sea. Because of this they worshipped the Kelpie more. Over centuries The Aecor began to believe the first born daughter of their lunar year was chosen by the Kelpie to protect the village. The women chosen by the Kelpie were raised to protect and serve all the tribes. Since the Aecor were spread out across the shore later historian believed it would be difficult to tell which girl was born first, but they later discovered the first born was born with a seven mark on their forehead which set them apart- this is still prominent today, but means very little to people today because the Aecor ancestors moved across the land in later years. Although the parents do know the stories, the children live normal lives, but have an uncanning knack for protect others and joining careers that involve helping others. (The Silver Eyes -that’s what they are called- will be the first to join Skarlet when she calls for help.)
