The present-day economy is based on the monarchy. All taxes come to the ruler, meaning the king is the bank and spends the money accordingly whether on improving the kingdom or their palate. The money is collected in each town by a baron who will pass the money to a viscount who will pass it to an Earl. Once the Earl collects the money they take the taxes to the largest city near them and gives it to the Duke to the area who will send it to the King. There is corruption, each hand the taxes pass through will take a bit for themselves. Meaning the ruler will assume the kingdom is worse them he predicted or there are less people in an area than he believed. This will cause budget cuts in that area and greatly hurt the people in the area especially when a need supply is in short supply because of it. There are three coins used in the kingdom and the surrounding lands - they just have different designs on the coins. The highest amount of coin is a gold coin which is called a Kinold which can buy a satin dress for a noble - these coins are rarely seen by commoners. 100 silver coins or Ginbers are equal to one Kinold. 25 Ginber can buy a fast horse. 100 copper coins are worth one Ginber. Copper coins are called Dopfer and ten of them can buy a simple meal at an inn. Atemdo area exports wind magic products, armor, cotton, and carpentry goods. Atemdo imports food and medicine. Feuerkas exports fire products, salt, and herbs for food and iron. Likari exports light magic, clay, bricks, culinary products, and minerals for herbs and food. Baukyu exports water products, fish, salt, wheat, wines, and vodka for minerals, herbs. Glatkori exports earth magic products, fish, salt, herbs, and woods for cattle, wines, and cotton. Sentalung is the largest area that exports meats and satin and imports everything because that is where the king lives.
