Documents of Holzai

This is a rewrite of found documents of Holzai Nokut, the only man to return from Rucsui Mountiains. This collection holds statements from the residing king (name unknown), magical doctors, and letters written of Holzai after returning.

Of the statement of the king.
As tradition of the time, all official statements were spoken and written in the ancient tongue Hanasprochen so for future records, all documents of the time have been translator into the common tongue.

My brothers and sisters,
A man who tread into lands of the Forsaken and returned. Of the years I have watched over this land, no such miracle has befallen man. I question his motives in letting someone leave his land. We must watch the north more carefully and pray to the heavens the peak does not show as if it does, we will have more than death to fear. Watch Nokut diligently and do not let him wander too far towards the East and warn me if he speaks of the falling waters even in passing.

Of Holzai Nokut:
My dearest Blaha,
I am cursed by the shadows every night. They call to me, teasing me as if they took something from me. From the corner of my eye, I see a beast dripping in darkness. The very beast who chased me on those haunting mountains and threw me off the mountain. I know not if the beast is my savior or my curse, but even as I write this, it plagues me and makes me believe it is the latter. It smiles at me but when I look at it, it runs.
I am plagued by shadows and nightmares despite my devotion to the gods. I pray to them every night, every day, and every time I see the beast. I pray to them, I devote myself entirely to the Heaven King's will but no mercy is given. Is this my curse for trying to save my child? Or have the gods abandoned me for being unable to save her?
I curse myself for being the one to survive when I know that I, more than anyone, do not deserve it. If the gods tell me this is my price for failure then I will accept it, but I will continue to pray to them until they tell me such because I refuse to let my soul be taken by the Shutch.

Did the Shutch take her soul? Is my daughter still trapped on that mountain? The shadows have began to whisper yet the gods fail to answer me. Was my daughter able to escape and was she able to return to the Heaven King? I pray she was and if not, I will do everything to free her soul.

The mountain calls me. I can hear the Shutch taunts even when fully basking in the light. I can no longer see the beast, which scares me as it has slowly been growing closer each month. Blaha, I can't live in fear. The voices are too loud and despite my devotions, the gods have not answered. What have I done wrong? Why must I suffer like this? The least they could tell me is if my daughter's soul was not taken. I need to know!

I have spoken with the King and he has told me my daughter's soul is safe. I feel like the shadows clouding my eyes have vanished and I can see the world again. The shadows are still present, but they no longer speak. I wish to come see you soon now that this curse has subsided.

Here end all currently translated documents written by Nokut. 49 Manuscripts were discovered as of 1451 NS and are to be believed to be the written work of Holzai Nokut further translations will be added once authentication from the preists of Solinlicht Cathedral is complete.
