Aether

The source of all magic.  Raw untapped potential.  While typically found as a green semi-matter, the substance can also be found in a solid state where it is called Gygravagnite(material), or G3.  The source of Aether is the World Tree Yggdrasil, on the Plane of Aether, which flows from the tree in a never ending stream called The Aether River and connects all the worlds of Yggdrasil.  Aether can be utilized in a number of fashions, the most common being through the casting of Vancian Magic, however under certain circumstances an individual can be imbued with Aether, making them an Aethertouched.  Aether is countered by a force known as Flux, which in turn is countered by a force known as Runes, which is then countered by Aether in turn, forming a triangle.
