Zion
Zion is a settlement supposedly created during the time of Prester John in order to stave off the Green Menace. Exceedingly few know further details about the settlement.
Zion has become a colloquial term in modern times for a place or time which does not exist; i.e. "Approaching Zion" meaning going nowhere. A noteworthy legal punishment in Outremer is to order someone to Zion, essentially banishing them until they wander long enough to find the settlement. While not uncommon, this punishment is reserved for the most heinous criminals, such as blasphemers, necromancers, and hexers.
Despite this journey being a punishment, there is also cultural importance in undertaking it. The Green Menace is feared by all, and so many seeking to do good (whether to repent, make a name for themselves, etc.) voluntarily trek the desert to find Zion. Cultural etiquette is to assist wanderers traveling to Zion, as you don't know whether they have noble goals or have been subjected to punishment.
It is said that if one does arrive in Zion, all are accepted regardless of their history - the threat of the adjacent Green Menace is too large to worry about anything else. As such, Zion can also be used as a phrase for forgiving someone, wiping slates clean, or accepting everyone on equal footing; i.e. "The Beaurocracy of Guilds accepts all crafts Zion," as equal, or "Granting someone Zion," forgiveness.
