Hatchling
The role of a Synthar hatchling within the hive is a crucial stage in the transformation of a mortal being into a member of the hive mind collective. Emerging from the darkness of the hive's depths, a hatchling is the first stage of life for those who have been converted into Synthar, marking the beginning of their journey into servitude to the queen and the hive.
For those unfortunate enough to be captured and assimilated by the Synthar, the process begins with their transformation into hatchlings, a process as horrifying as it is irreversible. Through the queen's dark and twisted powers, mortals are stripped of their individuality and autonomy, their bodies and minds reshaped and remolded into the likeness of their new Synthar form.
As hatchlings, these newly converted Synthar are vulnerable and disoriented, their minds still reeling from the shock of their transformation and their bodies adjusting to their new form. They are brought into the hive's chambers, where they are nurtured and cared for by their fellow Synthar, who provide them with sustenance, shelter, and protection from external threats.
Despite their initial confusion and disorientation, hatchlings retain a fragment of their former selves, a lingering echo of the memories and emotions that defined them as mortals. They struggle to make sense of their new existence, grappling with the loss of their humanity and the overwhelming presence of the hive mind that now dominates their thoughts and actions.
Yet, even in their newly transformed state, hatchlings possess a spark of curiosity and inquisitiveness that drives them to explore their surroundings and learn about their new existence. They observe the behaviors of their fellow Synthar, mimicking their actions and learning valuable skills that will serve them in their future roles within the hive.
While hatchlings may not fully comprehend the extent of their transformation or the dark purpose to which they have been conscripted, they nonetheless represent the first step in the conversion process, the initial stage of assimilation into the hive mind collective. As they mature and grow stronger, hatchlings will eventually play more active roles within the hive, contributing their unique skills and abilities to the collective and furthering the goals of the queen and her brood.
