The Family
History
Helen "Mother" and the Family are a coven of Hags located in Camptown in the northeast corner of the continent. They are quite ancient and lived in the woods until Camptown was established as a lumber camp for one of the shipping companies. They used their magic to take control of Camptown and run the town from a tavern / brothel called The Soaking Maiden. They use fear and magic to control the town. They take young children to feed on and leave “gifts” in some sort of cruel payment. Young girls that have innate arcane abilities are taken and twisted to The Family's rule. Not all family members are hags. There were three hags in the Family, counting Mother. The rest of the Family is made up of men and women that have been lured in and used in the brothel. They were people who began the initiation process, but could not complete the final step: Eating a child's heart. When they refused, their memories were wiped, and they were charmed by Mother into working at The Soaking Maiden. Her magic kept them young--some of them were with her for a very long time. They all aged when Mother was killed.Members of the Family
