He is studying a branch in the Sliced Knuckle tavern and may either overhear the party talking of going up the mountain and inquire about tagging along or be volunteered by Nadir to assist removal of the mammoth herd eating farmer Josie's potatoes. If the party causes a ruckus in the tavern he will leave to go attempt the removal himself or investigate the obsidian deposit.
