Chapter of the Four Dragons

The Chapter of the Four Dragons was formed in the year 143 to protect, maintain, and expand the legacy of Paladins and the Oaths they uphold. The order seeks to provide aid to anyone in need, while ensuring that the members fulfill the tenets of their Oaths.   There were originally four patrons of the Order, representing four specific Oaths - The Oath of Vengeance, The Oath of Devotion, the Oath of the Watchers, and the Oath of the Ancients.

The Four Oaths

The Oath of Vengenace

Gashteth the Red was the Patron of the Oath of Vengeance. An Ancient Red Wyrm, Gashteth was one to hold a grudge - he remembered every plunderer who stumbled into his hoard - and never forgot a face. He was more than happy to sponsor an order of powerful knights who's job was to exact vengeance on those who weren't above betrayal.

The Oath of Devotion

Lumonek the Blue, Patron of the Oath of Devotion. The story goes that this Ancient Blue Wyrm has watched over a group of loyal dragonborn for centuries - before, during, and after - the great war. Lumonek is the embodiment of dedication and is more than happy to lend his power to anyone who pursues the Oath of Devotion.

The Oath of The Watchers

Rylborath the Silver, Patron of the Oath of the Watchers. Rylborath's role as a Watcher was established after the end of the Dark War. His keen interest in keeping an eye on straggling demons, and their worshippers naturally lent itself to sponsoring a small cadre of knights to aid him in his quest.

The Oath of the Ancients

Kaivyss the Gold, Patron of the Oath of Ancients. Kaivyss was an Ancient Wyrm when the portal to the Abyss was opened. He believed in the triumph of good, and light, over evil and darkness. He mounted countless offenses against the demonic invaders. His devotion to the good and light of the universe, is what led him to sponsoring a group of paladins dedicated to the Ancient ways.

Members

The Chapter of the Four Dragons is comprised of 100 members. 25 members are dedicated to each Oath - one Leader, four masters, 10 members, and 10 apprentices.   Each Oath leader helps comprise the Council of Stones. The council helps determine the stones each Paladin takes as an apprentice and their first mission as a Paladin.

The Stones

In the heart of The Oathsworn Keep lie the four dragonstones. Each stone is tied to one of the four oaths of the Chapter of Four Dragons. These stones hold power imbued to them by the original draconian patrons.   When someone joins the order, they are gifted four gems crafted from a sliver of these dragonstones. As the paladin upholds the tenets of their oaths, the four gems empower their owner. If the paladin fails to uphold the tenets, the gems' power fades.
