Saint Sebastian

"The Sentinel"

Saint Sebastian is well known as the commander of the heavenly host and champion of all things just and good. Long has this angel fought back the forces of evil from the lands held by Pelor, and they say his fight is never ending. He is depicted wielding a golden spear in one hand, and a tower shield in the other. With his spear he would cast down those with an impure heart, and with the shield he would protect the innocent.
Saint Sebastian is called the Sentinel, for he stands by the gates of hell in an everlasting vigil, so that those who would attempt to escape may never cause their foul desecration again. Yet before his time at the gates of hell, he spent much of his sainthood searching out great evil and vanquishing it, battle after bloody battle. Some scribes surmise that the reason he stands by the gates is more personnel, and may be because he wishes none of his enemies to ever resurface.
Holding true to his position as champion and protector, his symbols include a spear in flight and a shield with a sun engraved onto it.

It is said that during the night of deliverance, Sebastian threw his spear and as it travelled across the sky the dark clouds broke overhead, and all of the beast's servants fled from the brilliant light that fell from the sky.
