Par'baht

All throughout the Gilded Coast know of the Pharaoh-Sworn, elite warriors trained high in the mountains to become masters of warfare. This training site is Par'baht, the city in the sky. The path up the cliffside is a long and winding staircase carved into the red rock of the Upper Dorgattan mountain range, and it is said that path stands at 10,000 steps. Whenever a new recruit is sent to train, they must first be able to climb the steep path to prove themselves worthy of receiving the vast wisdom of Kar'thatos. 
The small fortress itself is made of red bricks and clay mined from the mountainside, with a large courtyard in the middle. A few small paths lead even further up the mountain and into old caves and dungeons, where cadets go to complete their training. What lies within such caves is kept a close secret, but only a portion of the soldiers that enter ever come out. Those who do are a true force to be reckoned with. 
Par'baht is not ruled by a pharaoh, but by a great military commander by the name of Ghazi Suleiman. While not a Golden Pharaoh, he was offered the golden cowl of Kar'thatos for his great deeds during the Dark Contention. He now watches over Par'baht, using his wisdom gained through age to teach new blood the ways of the sword.
