Ndidi

Ndidi is the goddess of the sea and storms. She often takes the form of a mermaid, and has four arms in which she holds many shamshirs. She is said to hold sway over the ocean's currents, and changes them depending on her mood. Sailors will often leave offerings on the docks from which they sail, in an attempt to please the goddess and garner fair weather on their voyage.   Ndidi is also worshipped inland as well, for she is also known as the protector of the oasis. In myths and legends it was stated that after the sundering of the sands Ndidi chased all monsters away from the various oases, allowing mortals to seek refuge in these places. Her reputation as a monster slayer has remained true over the years, and many of those who would hunt such beasts look towards her for guidance in their battles.    Ndidi has two common symbols, the first being a four armed mermaid, and the second a wreath of swords.
Ndidi is said to have mothered all of the sea beasts, but one in particular stands out in folklore. Huhtu is a great monster that lives deep within the ocean, and rarely comes up to the surface. Along the Gilded Coast whales will wash ashore, half eaten. This is quite rare, but it is said that these are fresh kills of Huhtu, who only hunts the largest of prey. Huhtu is pictured in legend as a mass of writhing hands emerging from the waves, each wielding a great weapon.
