Nafir

Nafir is the snake headed god of lies, deception and murder. As such he is often written as the villain in the many tales told by the Shorik'kou. As stated before, Nafir is often shown to be a man with the head of a viper, and sometimes appears to mortals as a great black snake with emerald green eyes. Perhaps his worst act was to have his brother Sardior killed, and kick off the events that led to the sundering of the sands.    Nafir has always been known as a selfish god, and any sentence he utters is laced with lies. However, many people still worship him along the gilded coast. These worshippers typically hide in the shadows, much like their patron, and can only worship the god openly within cults.
Lies are not all that Nafir stands for, for he is also the god of murder and poison. Legends say there is a cult dedicated to his name that carries out assassinations, using a virulent poison that (with one cut) kills the victim within minutes. This organization has a name that is whispered lowly in the streets, and the name is the Brotherhood of the Black Viper.
The djinn of the desert are evil spirits that deceive those wandering the vast sands. Some Djinn simply give false directions, causing the traveler to become lost, others will attempt to trick adventurers into making foolish pacts or wishes. It is believed that Djinn are Nafir's children, as they were borne into creation whenever Nafir told a lie.
