Cerúlea

"The Castle on the Lake"

Cerúlea is a small chateau that sits atop a high hill overlooking Sebastian's Dive, the lake that rests in the Farmer's Crescent. The town itself is relatively secluded from the rest of the cities, and mainly holds it's utility as a rest stop for those passing through or as a final stop for any hoping to settle down away from the stress of large scale civilization.   Much like the farms that dot the Plateau, Cerúlea has become a hotbed for superstition in Norvo. The most notable tales that circulate the town stem from the lake at its doorstep, as many believe it is home to many monsters and myths. Upon inspection it would be no surprise as to why the townsfolk would suspect as much, as the lake seemingly has no end to its depth. Those who have swam its warm waters have even described it as swimming over the pits of hell itself. That does not stop the lake from being an incredibly beautiful view to onlookers however.   Lordship over Cerúlea does not belong to a bishop as is the case with all other major cities in Norvo, but is instead owned and run by Henryet Gammont. Henryet gained his wealth through a life of farming and consistent business transactions with nearby locations such as Anselum and Ponte do Cavaleiro. While this may seem like a lucky thing to have happened, and it very much seems to be the case, many of those living in the Crescent and Cerúlea itself keep secret their belief that he may have made a deal with an outlandish being. But that may just be jealousy talking after all. That said, Henryet never truly lost his love for farming and has filled the hills around Cerúlea with lush olive trees, turning Cerúlea into Norvo's prime location for olive oil production.
The Beast of the Farmer's Crescent has long been a tale told to the children of the plateau to keep them in bed at night. As far back as people could remember, livestock such as pigs and goats have been disappearing from their pens. No one has yet to catch the beast responsible, but many claim to have seen it. Reports range from small packs of vampiric hyenas known as El Chupacabras, to tales of a much larger beast, something terrible and unknown.
