Edréo

The warren of Edréo lies beneath the rocky hills of eastern Orliüm. Like many other warrens across the world, this was once a prosperous mine, ready to become a safe haven for those who survived the Brightening. Afterwards, it remained vital to the survival of the Darklings since it contained a wide variety of equipment used for refining raw materials.   This old mine is key to the Vandarr family trade of crafting and selling firearms. The abandoned surface town of Cavlio nearby was in an ideal location to receive raw materials from multiple mines, key of which were the minerals necessary to create black powder. Craftsmen of all many non-magical trades lived in the town, and one could always hear the banging and clanking of tools to material.   After the Brightening, the residents moved below ground to the nearby sulfur mine. The items they produced became even more vital to the survival of the Darklings, but collection of the raw materials became more hazardous. Loggers worked at night, bringing in wood from local forests, and while the nearby mines still operated, caravans transporting the ore and other minerals would fall under attack by raiders by night, or risk the sunbeasts by day.   As a result, Edréo quickly took on a defensive and militant attitude. The Vandarr family provided high quality weaponry to the town militia, and the warrenfolk trained hard to provide guards for anyone transporting materials to them. They defend their citizens with a ferocity that borders on fanaticism, and woe be to anyone who attacks one of their trade caravans.   The people of Edréo concentrate much of their effort these days to crafting armor and weapons for other warrens, as they see these as badly needed for all Darklings to defend themselves. Black powder is their most valuable trade commodity. They trade for much of their food and non-mineral related needs.   They are wary of any magic whatsoever, as they have a firm belief that magic is what got Orliüm into its current state. No Darkweavers live in the town, though they tolerate them visiting so long as they do not cast any magic within their caverns. Brights, on the other hand are hated among the warrensfolk, and are considered a group of people to be shot on sight.
