It is a new day for humanity. After decades of war and famine, ecological devastation and technological stagnation the world has begun to heal, brought to peace by an alliance of grass roots movements and scientific institutions that subverted the nation state and corporate board to create a new type of organization, the T.E.R.R.A. Initiative. The technological and ecological rejuvenation, research, and advancement Initiative organizes scientific progress and economic activity around the globe to ensure Earth’s remaining resources are put toward the good of all humanity. However, all are not content to accept the Initiative's oversight and hold outs remain especially among the former first world nations as well as the more larger corporations and religious communities who are loathe to give up power and seek an escape from the Initiatives stifling regulations.   As the horrors of the 22nd century fade into memory, the eyes if the Initiative’s leaders and its detractors turn toward the sky’s seeking new opportunities brought into reach by recent advancement most crucially the warp drive and fusion engine.   Humankind stands at the beginning of an age of exploration and discovery the scale of which has not been seen since the centuries, but as we set off for the stars we must ask ourselves are we Columbus, sailing to a new world full of riches to claim and lands to conquer? Or are we Montezuma, confident in our power and position unaware of the doom creeping toward our horizon?
