The Baron is dead! Slaughtered by orcs, none The royal family were left alive. Lord Saxton rose to the throne of Bedegar and began imposing his iron will upon the people. His iron hand imposed by his Knights of the Three Roses, a brutal order of cut throat mercenaries turned knights.
You have just escaped the grasp of the Emperor Inquisitors, still bound by the collar around your neck, the mysterious figure that freed you pointed you towards the wizard Tace and that your best place to find him would be the town of Gravesford.
The tone of this game will be inspired by: Darkest Dungeon, Stoneshard Stalker, Bloodbourne, The Witcher and Glen Cook's The Black Company. I would call this a mud and blood political campaign. My aim is for a more gritty campaign tone.
This will be a campaign that is heavy in politics, and will be using both the Strongholds and Followers along with the Kingdom and Warfare rules. Along with some expanded weapon rules along with some elements taken from the Darker Dungeons and Hardcore 5e rules. Along with maybe some other 3rd Party Rules. The Campaign will run from level 1 and cap at level 10.
I will be using Astral Tabletop, FG is too pricey and roll20 is shitty.
This is a LBGTQ+ friendly game.
If you are interested, I have a few simple questions so I can curate the type of players that I'll have in my game. Game time will be 8:30 pm PDT on Fridays or Saturdays. They will be 2-2 ½ hours.

Name: Rene Age: 30 Time Zone: MST D&D Experience: (More so I can gauge how to run the game) I usually DM have only been doing it for 2 years. I play sometimes but very casually as I have not found a solid group yet. Race/Class Ideas: I would like to play a fighter that leans more on the defensive side but I will accomodate anything really to enhance story. What you like in D&D: I really like tactical combat but the politics and intrigue Colville style is my favorite. I love the darker fantasy hardcore rules but I find them hard to implement in my group since they do not like that style of play. I have read some other rpgs like Forbidden Lands and Aquelarre for inspiration but it is hard to get my group to try and learn those. What kind of other media do you enjoy: I like to watch documentaries mainly historic and medieval history. I like Game of Thrones series, I watch some usual Netflix series and a little anime. I like to watch the occasional international soccer matches and almost always wake up early on Sundays to watch some F1 Grand Prix. Any questions you have for me: When do we start? :)
