Kytaro
Kytaro is the sole desert region in Numaria, located in the southeastern corner of the continent. Cities and settlements crop up on the fertile areas surrounding rivers and small bodies of water. Its climate is sweltering hot during the day and very cold at night. Due to the extreme differences in day and night, the Kytari people hold a special reverence for the gods Solis and Noctis, as they believe that their hold is strongest in their province.
The tattoos may be done in black, dark brown, or golden ink as per the traditions of the clan. They are usually symmetrical and span the entirety of one’s forehead, trailing onto the sides of the face.
It is considered strange and taboo to marry outside of the Kytaro province. The only exception to this stigma occurs when the head of a clan (the eldest living member) publicly accepts the outsider as kin. It is then expected that the outsider will receive a face tattoo to match that of their spouse.
Inhabitants
The Kytari numari are most easily identified by the tattoos that adorn their faces. Their eyes are often brown, orange, or rust in colour. They dress themselves in colourful, thin cloth which may be shed or layered as needed.Customs
Dance
The art of dance is incredibly important to the Kytari people. Ceremonies and festivities commemorating marriages, birthdays, and other important events always feature beautifully choreographed dances. Some professional Kytari dancers are famous throughout Numaria.Face Tattoos
Each family has designed a clan symbol that represents their history. When a Kytari comes of age, they receive a facial tattoo that is designed to incorporate their clan symbol. Familial loyalty is the most important cultural values held by the Kytari people. Marriage Customs
When a marriage occurs, the older partner is inducted into the clan of the younger partner. This is the case regardless of any combination of gender and age differences of the couple.
