A Sunny Afternoon

"You've misspelled 'breakthrough'."
"Why not you take it from here?"
"You can't learn if you let your body be used by me. Now continue writing."
"What a way to spend a sunny afternoon ... hm."
"Did something capture your attention?"
"Saw Sara on the street for a moment."
"You are worried about her."
"Of course I am. She was sold! Gods, selling people! What has the world come to!"
"In the south, it's been done for centuries. In the greatest cities, slaves outnumber freemen."
"Well I don't see anything great about that and I don't want our city to become like that. We are the descendants of Aphom! We can't sell ourselves!"
"It might be inevitable."
"How come?"
"The march of progress might demand it. Different levels of cultural and technological development require different forms of relations between individuals. When this city had only a few thousands inhabitants and knew little of craftsmanship, the tribal order might have worked, but now more things are produced and thus are sold. As a handful of individuals acquire more resources, they will need more hands to use these resources, and buying people is a natural solution."
"Do you do that in your world?"
"Not now, but we used to, long ago."
"Well, make us so we also don't do it. You can light a forest on fire with a thought, Ariveas! Convincing people should be nothing for you!"
"You can also burn a forest using oil. Strength alone is not enough to manage something so complicated. And I am but an Explorer, a generalist, I do not have deep knowledge of social dynamics. I might do more harm than good."
"Some superior being you are..."
"I am flattered, but you think too highly of me.
Good, you didn't do any more mistakes, you'll be a philosopher in no time at this rate."

"I'd rather not, it might bore me to death. I'm too lazy to walk, can you do it for me? To Endiomon's house."
"I'm not a fan of your falling movement. And you might forget how to do it if you leave it to me instead."
"Look, I won't forget how to walk, brainworm. Now do me a favor in exchange for me wasting my energy writing all these complicated words."
