On the Gear's Edge

In the twenty first century, Queen Victoria the Second rules over the sun setting of the British Empire... Clockwork runs the world's wonders, dirigibles float in the sky, while trains steam across the land. A man-made island of antique origin floats in the Mid-Atlantic, spinning slowly on it's innumerable cogs. From there, League of Nations keeps the world at peace, more or less...   ...and on that Island-   A bright mind spins a mantle for a hero, listening to the music of the gears. A masked hero roams in the gaslight and clockwork lamps. A police inspector gives chase, but will he catch his criminal, or will he catch something bigger. A “cat” on two legs stalks her prey in the dark of the night and the depths of the city. A sinister organization stirs, giving Impossible life to the under-works, but their home is not a shelter.   And young Lady will find a challenge that will take her to the depths of the Under-works and beyond, and pursuing it just may well break her faith in everything she believes in, or temper her resolve in the fires of adversity.   The world of Gear's Edge is a place where history took just a step or two in a different direction of our own, and science found new ways to accomplish things with steam and clockworks. (Well, and it also contains giant island composed of gear work of unknown origin.)
