The Five Families

The Five Families is the common term for the five Northmen tribes that operate out of Gadelina and Soltus. These families are known for their tight control of the northern seas.

Structure

The Five Families are broken up across the Belmyr and North Seas, and operate out of Soltus and Gadelina.
The Breva Family is known for its blackmailing of political figures, giving themselves the most autonomy over the seas. They are typically considered the most powerful family due to their control over the majority of the sea territories.
The Sargassa Family operates out of Gadelina, and has their hands in almost all sailor and crew activities of the north. They operate multiple Mariner Guilds in the north that employ most dock workers and deckhands in Gadelina.
The Riddar Family operates out of Soltus and usually collect any outstanding debts on behalf of the other families, earning them the nickname 'Northsharks'. They are known for their skilled warriors and brutal methods of killing and torture.
The Langoff Family operates out of both Gadelina and Soltus, and is one of the smallest families. However they are one of the most wealthy and deal mostly in giving out loans and financial support, which carry high interest rates and are not usually sought after except by those in dire need.
The Volgin Family is the most secretive family, usually dabbling in the import and export of illegal or unsanctioned goods. They have the farthest reach, operating in Soltus, Gadelina, and even as far as East Tesshan for some shipments.
