For decades, war had ravaged the land of Olira and its people. Each of the three civilizations of Olira fought in the name of their God, believing that by bringing glory to their patron deity, they might one day receive a blessing that would end the violence and strife they suffered through for so long. The gods soon answered their prayers. In an attempt to lead her worshippers to victory, the god Andawe promised her followers a power unimaginable— the gift of magic. The two other gods, Laveus and Cogdon, enraged that Andawe had given humans something so sacred, soon followed suit in jealousy, each giving their own worshippers unfathomable magic abilities. However, what the Gods thought would be the weapon that would end the war, proved to be the tool that only exacerbated it.   Only the leaders of each of the cities, many of them zealots who communed with the Gods, were entrusted by the divines to wield magic. Instead, they only used their gift to strengthen their gripped over the common folk, conscripting more to fight in the war. Alongside their generals, they charged onto the fields, ready to end their enemies on sight.   Equipped with power, but without the knowledge to handle it, the humans unleashed devastating attacks on each other. Fire fell like rain from the sky and scorched the grasses of the battlefields. Warriors were disintegrated as lightning from a foe struck their bodies. Swords and shields were imbued with arcane enchantments that emboldened the strength of the soldiers. The war, and the deaths that came with it, seemed only to be prolonged.   The fighting was unlike anything that had been recorded in history. Within months, 90% of the overall population had deceased. Most died by the fierce power possessed by the newly acquainted religious leaders. Others died from spears, swords and arrows, but these weapons were no match to the god-like powers that now ruled the lands.   Now, eighty-six years lives the remains of the groups that started the war. Some have realized what damage they’ve done and are looking for peace. Others still fight with the same tenacity that started the war...
