Oldbourne

The world of Oldborne is a mixture of magic, fantasy, and steampunk. The denizens of Oldborne are under a constant threat of Deepmist, a black mist which over time can infect most races with a terrible blight or drive one mad. The source of the Deep mist is deep underground from an crystal like ore called Blight Stone. Refined Blight stone can be used as a powerful energy source that is used in the realm's various steampunk devices making it highly coveted.

The most prominent races of Oldborne are Humans, Elves, Gnomes, Dwarves and Draconians. Only the Dwarven and Draconians have any immunity to the strange and twisted effects of Deepmist, the other races suffer strange mutations after prolong exposure. These mutations have become common enough that they have been given their own sub-species names. Humans become large Ogres, Elves change into limber trolls, and gnomes become twisted goblins.
