Ogenia, The Broken Lands

Nearly 1000 years ago, Mankind rose up against the oppressive rule of a powerful Elven kingdom. The kingdom of Urlia'geh fell and in its place stood the fractured tribes of Man. These people did what they could to colonize the wilderness left behind by their once-rulers. During the war between Man and Mer, all manner of horrendous magic was unleashed and from it leapt forth horrible monsters. Werewolves and Vampires stalk the night, brought into being by the sadistic and desperate rituals conducted by the Elves at the end of their reign. Though these creatures are terrifying in their own right, they are not the only things Mankind must contend with as it fights for survival. Alien beings from beyond the stars have found their way into the Material Plane and have hunted within the realm since before the Elves rose to power. Some of these creatures were birthed from meteorites that crashed millions of years ago, others were simply brought through a portal created by a mysterious, long dead race of powerful Alchemists. Apart from all of these horrors, there is still one creature Mankind must fight against each and every day: itself. Cruel zealots, maddened hunters, and vindictive gang members stalk the streets of each and every town, each on his own quest to take what he believes to be rightfully his. The world is rife with horror and death, but there are those who fight for a day when Mankind will be free from the curses their forebears brought upon the land.
