The Aeulan Civilization met it's disastrous end.

At the end of the Aeulan Age, the four generals who led the fractures of the former empire met in the center of the old capital. Each brought the full force of his armies, and it was here that the final battle of the Aeulan Age took place.   The armies breached the walls of the capital, each from their compass directions. Storming into the city, they left no man, woman, child, or animal alive. All were slain the wake of the deluge of fighting warriors. The four fractures of Aeulo met each other in the heart of the city at the ancient stone where legend suggests the Aeulan Age first began.   Two-thirds of the day passed while the fractures of Aeulo raged on. Day had just began to turn into night, yet no cessation of hostilities was visible amidst any of the participants, rumored to number around 3.6 million fighting men. At the moment the Sun first touched the horizon, the ancient stone that marked the place where Aeulo began started to shake. Its shaking intensified until it split four ways--down each compass direction. The fractures of the great stone fell, killing hundreds and wounding more. The fighters began to look up from their battle as the sky darkened with the approach of night, and the tremors that fractured the ancient stone began to mar the great plaza in the center of the capital.   The fractures rippled out into the city, cascading along the alleys and byways. Several buildings toppled into each other, as the fractures that formed in the alley between them reached down into the bedrock. Those civilians who hid high in the towers of the capital and escaped the sword were slain by the tremors and fractures that tore out from the center. Before the end of the night's first watch, the entire capital city had crumbled and fallen into the heart of the sea.   The tremors continued, and the fractures radiated out from the epicenter with the same strength as destroyed the capital. In 17 days, the entire Aeulan civilization was no more, and any land mass that had been claimed at any time by the Aeulans had fallen into the heart of the sea.
