The War of the Wastes (I, II, and III)

Dreagor has seen more than its fair share of wars and battles, and none more famous than the most famous war of all, The War of the Wastes. The three native races all hate each other, and don’t get along at all, starting three wars known as the three Wars of the Wastes. Each of the three native races started the wars. The first War of the Wastes was instigated by the Naga. A political discussion gone wrong ended with the Naga leader killing the Hogfolk leader, and everything just spiraled out of control. The second War of the Wastes was instigated by the Deathstalkers, killing the leader of the Hogfolk. The Hogfolk then declared War on the Deathstalker, and the Naga, a very war like people, declared war on the both of them. Soon, everyone was fighting everyone. The third War of the Wasted was started when the Hogfolk revolted and killed the Hogfolk leader. The leader’s two sons split the rebellion in two and each demanded the throne. Each the Naga and the Deathstalker backed one side, and everything went downhill. A new Hogfolk leader was eventually put into place, but during another political meeting, the new Hogfolk leader was killed. This sent everything back. In total, the three wars spanned a period of Twenty-Two years combined.

The Conflict

Prelude

Each of the three wars was instigated by one of the three races. Naga for the  first, Deathstalker for the second, and Hogfolk for the third. Each of the wars started with the Hogfolk leader being killed.

Outcome

Each of the three wars led to a small time of peace between the three tribes until someone inevitably broke the truce and started their aggression up again.

Aftermath

Each war also left a lasting impact on each races population, with them sending nearly all their warriors to fight. The time of peace was therefore elongated because of the need to replenish their population and Build up a fighting force.

Historical Significance

Legacy

The first War of the Wastes has a lasting cultural significance for the Naga, with them starting it, and coming out on top, at least in their eyes. In reality the treaty wasn’t very selective, and each side got pretty much equal share.
