Nuvia

Peace, prosperity, and discovery. Nuvia. A utopia if ever there was one. Life was easy. People were able to spend their time however they wished. Leisure, culture, and study were afforded to all. It had been hundreds of years since any conflict of note. Most Nuvians aren't old enough to remember the darker times and those that are don't often share the stories.   Nuvia's sprawling cities featured architectural wonders that rose above the clouds. There were lush forests teeming with wildlife and fertile rolling hills. Sparkling, bountiful blue seas framed by pristine coastlines. Nuvia is a pinnacle example of balance, cooperation and equality between both its people and the land itself. Or should we say, it was.   What took centuries to achieve was all but erased in just a matter of years.   It began innocently enough. A few new people appeared from seemingly nowhere. They were welcomed to the new world that they had stumbled in to. All that arrived viewed Nuvia as a land of opportunity and decided to call it home. Suddenly more people, and more creatures. Some gentle and others, not so much. Even full structures and new biomes sprung up and overtook areas of Nuvia. All at an increasing pace. These event collectively became known as The Crossing.   Was it the overcrowding of the cities or the more aggressive and selfish creatures? Perhaps the startling introduction of new technologies or the new abundance of magic? Or when the land itself finally had enough, did it choose to fight back? Most citizens could not agree on what caused the scales to tip but it was clear, Nuvia was never going to be the same.   Today, you can still find pockets of the old Nuvia. Albeit, few and far between. Most people were forced to pick up shovels and swords again. Every day became a grind. There are others that saw this as a blessing. A blessing to sow chaos and satiate their greed. Some organized factions work to restore the balance that once was while others seek to understand what happened.   One thing is for sure. It's a brave new world for those who have recently crossed over; likewise for native Nuvians. How will you make your mark?
