Silent Company

An Aderian Silent Company is a fighting force dedicated to soaking up magical attacks, specifically those affecting a large area. They receive additional training in evasive maneuvers and methods of distracting and misdirecting enemy spellcasters' attacks. Officers and commanders in the company carry with them scrolls of silence, leading to the name. Due to the high risk stemming from the company's nature, all soldiers in the silent company, including commanders and officers, earn 150% the salary of soldiers who serve in other companies; with proven valor, this can increase to as much as double pay.
