Her evening wear simply depends on the events, due to the fact that certain groups would only allow her to come if she wore a dress.

Personal history

She was born in the Skycity of Aeros, the largest of the five Skycities. She and her brother grew up on an estate that was shielded off from the world. For the first ten years of her life, she had never left her compound. On her tenth birthday, she only wanted one present, and it was to see what was going on outside of the walls of her home. Her family was worried and attempted to distract her with a large number of presents from dresses to even a new horse. She didn't enjoy any of these things. So the next morning she exited the compound via the servant entrance. The day was spend wandering aimlessly around the vast landscape, taking in the smells and colors that were all around the city. She had gone the entire morning without confrontation; by mid-day, she had reached the pooer side of town, and her heart began to wonder what was going on. She saw beggars, homeless, and even small gangs. She became encircled by a gang of teenagers, who threatened to attack her if she didn't hand over food. Being young and foolish she attempted to invite them to her estate, which only got her thrown against the wall. It wasn't till a young man, Spencer Fitzsimons, got between her and the gang. Although he was a member himself, he didn't feel right about attacking a young girl, Kate was entranced by this older boy, who at the time was thirteen. He made the gang stand down, and sent them away. In a sign of confidence, he offered to walk her home; having had her taste of the city for the day she agreed. The young boy was surprised when he delivered the girl to the gate of the large estate. At the same time, he was taken into custody for suspicion of kidnapping.
The next four years of her life would be a regiment of school life. She was had many side activities, although none she enjoyed more than sword fighting. Often a person could find her in the training grounds learning new things with swords. Also within those four years, she and her brother were being introduced with the family business. Her brother was better at selling the construction side of the business, she excelled weapons and transportation creation of the company. She convinced whoever she wanted to purchase her product, but outside of work conversation could control her tongue.
She would go on unsupervised explorations in the city whenever she could. Most of these would be to feed the poor, or even give them medicine. Although she was given hope and joy from helping those less fortunate, she also did it to try to find the boy who saved her years before and repay him. Any time she would go out, she could never find him successfully.
When she and her brother turned nineteen, their father stepped down as the leader of the company. On her and her brother's first day of exploring the grounds of one of their shipyards, she was given a shocking discovery. To clean up his life, Spencer had begun working at one of the shipping yards years before. When she was introduced to him, she had no words to say to him, although she couldn't help to give him a smile. They met later and began to connect, and it wasn't long before the two had fallen in love. They ended up marrying only two years later on the Hellfire Estate, but Spencer refused to leave his job, feeling as if it would make himself seem less than what he was.
The two lived happily for eight years and had gotten to the point in the marriage where kids were becoming an actual thought. William, Kate's brother, had already had another set of twins, and Kate wanted to make sure her side of the business was kept in responsible hands. They wanted to go down to Jednota, where Kate's ancestors lived. The journey would take the two to fourteen different cities, as well as give them the opportunity to meet several rulers, including a pair of drangborn sisters who attempted to buy Kate's skyship off of her, to which Kate laughed in the face of any offer.
One evening disaster stuck. While only being a day's journey from Soillseachadh, Kate and Spencer were enjoy the night air. Their tour of the world thus far was almost complete. Out of nowhere, a Skyship open fired on the couples floating palace, shaking to two to their core. Although they had little hesitation to ready the ship for combat. The Balista began to be loaded, and the crew was prepared for a boarding party. The air battle would rage till morning when the Pirate ship launched large tethers and pulled Kate's vessel into boarding range. Kate worked on the top deck to keep the borders at bay. wielded a large Maul, making sure Kate was protected. He weathered any blow done to him, showing little ware. Kate had killed a pirate when she turned around to see the Pirate Captain plunged a cutlass into Spencer's chest. Kate froze in horror, but she composed herself and used the fire inside of her to attack the Captain alone. She used every ounce of her strength and managed to decapitate the large man. She and her crew removed the bodies of the pirates and removed the rations of the other ship, allowed the other ratty ship to fly off to nothingness.
Kate never made it to Jednota that year, instead, she spent most of the time in the estate. She almost never went outside and did most of her work from her office. This left her brother at a disadvantage whenever he would go and make sales to kingdoms. Eventually, three years after his death, Kate told her brother she was going off to travel, and sell their product to armies, kingdoms, and whoever will buy. But she told him she was going alone, that she simply needed to gather her thoughts of life. He didn't stop her but made sure that her Skyship was always nearby so that he didn't lose his only sister.
She traveled the world for the next two year, making friends and enemies of the people of the world. In that time she finally grew to understand that she needed to go and finally meet the people of Jednota. Although, another problem occurred before she began on her way. The land that she was traveling was known for its poachers. Soon her travels, she found a sight of a slaughter, where a little family of Owl Bears, had had their feathers pulled. She felt horrible and did whatever she could to respect the bodies. Although when she moved what she thought was a mother, she noticed a tiny white owlbear that was huddled up to the corps. She couldn't ignore the soft peeps of the little creature, without hesitation she picked her up and adopted the small creature.
She wouldn't make it to Jednota until she was 36, in which she would play a Key role in reestablishing the Reformiest Church Of the All-Knowing.
