The Walking Market

Created by the Big Baba

About it

The Walking Market is where all the folk of Nowhereland meet and go in order to shop and buy things. There are all sorts of stalls, souvenir stores, blacksmiths, tailors for clothing, and traveling merchants, with all sorts of products and services that only the dead have access to. The currency of the dead varies from merchant to shop, which are the different things used to purchase and buy items not only in the Walking Market but also everywhere in Nowhere Land. Some need gold, some memories, some dreams, some feelings, some souls, etc. The Walking Market gets its name from the constant walking and moving of the Market, being a mechanical structure with steel spider legs, and bridges sloped down for people to enter, it constantly changes place, and word of mouth gives info on its whereabouts. From afar, you'd think it were a giant spider or an insect of some sort, but as you approach, you see buildings, merchants, and stalls.

Examples of shops and stalls

Blacksmiths   These people craft weapons, armory, and shape stone and metals in any way you desire. Some sell the traditional medieval kinds of armors and weapons, some sell rings and bracelets fresh from the forge, some sell talking items cursed with enchantments, etc. They are generally called the Blacksmiths, but most differ from one another, and what they ask for even varies.   Traveling Merchants   These sellers and stalls offer products and services of various kinds. They have no specific field or target customers, but each one holds a diverse set of products. Some sell information, some sell birds, some sell dreams and nightmares, some sell general products one would find in the living world. Some sell pets, ghosts, and exotic animals. Some books, some movies, etc. Some have stalls, some have sheets laid down on the ground for all the products to be seen. These are the general sellers of products and services, both for the living and the dead.   Dream Visitation Shops   These places offer a service like no other, only the dead would wish and would die once more for. These places offer services in which they visit a loved one or family member or friend in his or her dreams. What you have to pay for here are a certain number of memories, all depending on the person or dream you are going to be set in. Some may require only one small memory, some may require a number of big and important ones. The people who often go here stop because they lose all knowledge of the people they lived with and loved.   Others   There are more various services and stalls that cannot be classified. Some are hired for assassinations, training, giving teeth to someone in order to recreate or create a person or creature, depending on how many teeth. A keeper of souls. A giver of memories, etc.
