Healberry Potion

A simple healing potion made from Healberries and some common herbs. Can be obtained from Alchemists in any city or village with a port as Healberries only grow on Kaprakaan Island. Thanks to the alcohol, the potion can never go bad as long as it is not shaken and stays sealed, which makes it relatively easy for transport and storage. Small amounts of the potion for individuals can be obtained in almost any alchemy store, usually around 20 gp per vial. Castles and military camps however have huge amounts stored in case of unforeseen emergencies.
The concentrated version of this potion can be used for very severe illnesses. Being brewed with dragon tears instead of distilled alcohol makes a vial of this potion significantly more expensive and very hard to obtain. A vial of such quality can usually only be found for sale in auction houses starting at 700 gp.

Effect

The potion has healing effects. It can be used to cure common sicknesses, prevent symptoms of curses and ease the pain of wounds. The paste can be applied to open wounds, healing them completely within a day.

Side/Secondary Effects

The potion can be poisonous when overdosed. One should not drink more than one per day.

Manifestation

The paste is dark red, with a sweet refreshing smell. Once mixed with alcohol the liquid has a sightly more orange color and seems to emit a light silverish glow.

Material Components

For a single dose of the potion one requires:

• 1 tablespoon of moon sugar
• 3 dried mountain flower blossoms
• 1 dried butterfly wing
• 2 healberries
• 1 small vial of distilled alcohol

Gestures & Ritual

1. Mix the sugar, blue mountain flower blossoms and butterfly wings in a mortar and grind into powder.
2. Add healberries and mix into a paste.
3. Put the paste into a glass vial and add distilled alcohol, shake before consumation.

Applied Restriction

As healberries can only grow on Kaprakaan, they have to be imported everywhere else. Thus, in war zones, the potion is usually reserved for the military and high ranked individuals.
