Anatomy

Voidtouched is a catch-all term given to the unfortunate souls who have succumbed to demon sickness. While a voidtouch's body superficially resembles their body before dying to the diseases, there are some marked differences. Their bodies are a dark grey, their skin peeling and bloodied. Their pupils have turned a milky white and dark, coagulated blood drips from their mouths.

Biological Traits

Voidtouched are of average strength and endurance; their real strength lies in their supernatural abilities. The physic abilities of the voidtouched allow them to emit a sort of 'scream' which burns the very mind and soul of any listeners rendering them comatose and brain dead.

Genetics and Reproduction

Voidtouched can only be created by a humanoid dying to demon sickness, a highly contagious magical disease, or being corrupted by intense amounts of arcane magic.

Average Intelligence

Voidtouched are somewhat intelligent, capable of using simple weapons and employing basic tactics. They are susceptible to mob mentality, blindly following the pack.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

While the voidtouched have rather poor vision, they have an extremely good sense of hearing and smell. They also have minor telepathy allowing them to flit along the minds of their prey.

Civilization and Culture

History

The voidtouched were created as a delivery vessel for sanguinare demiris, more commonly known as demon sickness.
The first recorded sighting of the voidtouched was during the Black Years. Thousands of voidtouched roamed the countryside in massive packs, preying on the few remaining pockets of humanity. If even just a few managed to breach a stronghold, the entire population would succumb to the disease.
Grey Court mages, after years of dissecting and researching countless voidtouched, discovered that the voidtouched are created by a disease. The disease transfers through bodily fluids, namely blood and saliva. The disease can also be transferred via overexposure to arcane magic.
Grey Court mages who investigated the psychic fields of the voidtouched found them impossible to explain. The subconscious belief of several voidtouched causes a entity to physically manifest in reality. The larger the horde of voidtouched, the more powerful the entity. Voidtouched that created an entity in containment were found worshiping the entity with strange rituals, bone effigies and bloody scriptures.
Scholars speculate that the disease was introduced to be a sort of bio-weapon; used by demons as a siege weapon to destroy entrenched foes.
