An extremely rare and magically charged metal prized for the strength it supposedly brings its bearer. The material has entered the realm of legend since The Shattering of the Crown.

Properties

Material Characteristics

This metallic substance appears to be similar in property to gold, but has an odd shine to it. When heated too quickly, the metal often splinters into quartz-like formations which can be melted again into liquid form.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Passoal is warm to the touch and it appears to hum a melody.

Melody

One historian, Shaylena Kwia Greedosich, recorded the melody the metal emits into music sheets. After comparative study, Greedosich found the melody matched the music said to permeate Fao during the Year of Melody. This conclusion has made some historians believe the melody heard in the Fao region was due to the extremely warm temperatures reported during this time.
The disruption of the underlying passoal may have created the song inhabitants reported.

History & Usage

History

The only known use of passoal is by Fao nomads and in the making of The Sabrinian Crown. Many believe the Sabrinian Empire drained all accessible passoal during the creation the Crown. The shards of the Crown could be the only remnants left of the material, but they were lost in the transitions of power following The Shattering of the Crown.
As such, this material has entered into a mythic state. Were it not for the studies done prior to the Crown's making, some historians speculate the material would be relegated to pure legend.

Discovery

An unknown Fao nomad traded a single shard to Jonde Lercake Ter Sabrine. Sabrine quickly uncovered the magical powers and properties of the crystal. She was able to use it to enhance her latent magical abilities and extend her life well beyond that of a normal human.
These discoveries led to the creation of Wave Magic. The high-pitched squealing noise which cannot be heard by humans or human-variants is said to emulate a rapid version of the melody emitted by passoal.
It would be Sabrine's son, Leencene Clarkprobst Chri So Sabrine, who would further come to understand the properties of passoal. He would use its properties to found The Sabrinian Kingdom and craft The Sabrinian Crown.
