Timberbreak

Timberbreak is nestled at the base of one of the Horset Mountains. It is unknown when the settlement appeared but it has been there as long as people can remember. It is obvious why its location was chosen as the mountain range at its rear provides a natural defence from most attacks, meaning it most has to actively scout the front of the settlement. The original site was also likely chosen due to the dense forests that surround the town, making for a rich source of building material and good hunting grounds to find food.   The town income is almost entirely made up of wood trade, and it's proximity to Nizeve means it can easily trade with Stonebia's neighbour, who will often buy large amounts of wood to sell off to it's neighbours via the port in Seyhan. The rest of the towns economy comes from selling pelts, tools, and other artisan goods. In an attempt to diversify its income, a past mayor of Timberbreak invested heavily into mining the nearby mountains. While this was quite fruitful and allowed the town to become self sufficient in the production of its tools, there was a lacking of mining expertise to really get the venture off the ground, so this trade has mainly become one about sustainability for the settlement.   The ventures into mining have led to some unforeseen consequences, as while the mountain range provides some natural defence, there have been a few occasions where goblins or bandits have made their homes in abandoned mine shafts and have taken the settlement by surprise. However after their first raid they are usually swiftly dealt with by mercenaries so that a second attack is not possible.   The current mayor is a human named Ordin Budz, and has lead the town for the past 10 years. Ordin is widely regarded as a supportive mayor, always haggling local merchants for the best prices, and wages have definitely seen an increase since he was elected. However his position is starting to become unstable as the shipments have been worth less than usual, yet he still lives a life of luxury.
