Galadhor

Galadhor was founded 400 years ago when Elves still held much political power on the continent. It's proximity to the nearby mountains meant a steady supply of minerals to trade or use for manufacturing. As the settlement grew a permanent mine was employed, known as Falhage Mine, and as Galadhor spread its influence across the region Falhage soon became the linchpin for the ruling family's power. In otherwords, whoever controls Falhage, controls Stonebia.
Once Galadhor established Falhage, it's potential for trade expanded but the capacity was limited by geography. Therefore it sent it's 4 most wealthy families to establish a trade post connected by river to Galadhor. Thus Gathar was founded and trade grew exponentially with settlements up and down the continent.
After a few centuries of ruling by various royal families, one particularly bloody succession crisis saw Falhage mine sealed and the location lost. Ever since, the polotical power of Stonebia has been somewhat maintained through other exports, but is steadily dwindling.
