Purpose / Function

Located in the free city of Tassiter, this simple looking brothel is the spot of many clandestine meetings between great barons, thieves, and assassins--hence its nickname. As the saying goes: "if you want to talk business, head to a brothel." Unbeknownst to its patrons, the brothel is actually a front for the assassins guild known as The Sisters of Silent Mercy, who make use the brothel to gather information--either for black mail or to find out more about a prospective target.

Alterations

Around 1870 an arena was added, for those who get their kicks from violence. There's wrestling matches--both traditional and mud wrestling--sword fighting matches--these are for female clientele, as the combatants are usually men--and quick draw tournaments.

Architecture

The building is a simple, three story wooden structure--one of the oldest wooden structures left in Tassiter--with the arena in the back, made of stone, and built like a small coliseum. Surrounding the main structure are three large pavilion tents, the inside a maze of silk walls that make up hallways and rooms--for those lovers that prefer the great outdoors when in the throes of passion.

History

Given that Tassiter is a city built on trade, it only made sense for Lavinia Luftenhower to start her business there. However, it wasn't originally supposed to be a brothel, in fact she wasn't sure what the business was going to be. At first she built it has a hotel--what most people don't realize is that they can still rent a room--but she changed her area of business when she realized men were only renting a room for "paid quality time," as she called it. However it was hard to find working girls, given the conservative views of Tassiter, and at this point in time Tassiter wasn't much of a city, and few women lived in Tassiter; and even as a hotel the business was failing. Around 1864, the hotel near to foreclosure, an envoy of The Sisters of Silent of Mercy approached her with an offer: they'd provide her with both the funding, and the girls. The conditions were simple: 1) don't ask questions, 2) she couldn't say no to whoever The Sisters provided as a prostitute--most of them were assassins for The Sisters--and 3) if ever the brothel was needed for purposes outside of what's intended, Lavinia had to let the Sisters use it for that purpose--such as sheltering a VIP of the Sisters.
