Noriiv

Noriiv is an economically stable city, built more as a fortress rather than a city. Built after the fall of the Alvonto Empire in roughly 588nf, Noriiv is considered the largest military encampment in Nortunem. The smell of worked steel and charcoal fill the air as forges work constantly to improve the Shivour military equipment and weapons. The buildings and streets have taken on a coat of black soot giving the city a menacing interior. No resident, nor traveler dares to commit a crime, since brigands are killed onsite.

Anything from thieving to murder is a death sentence in Noriiv. In special cases, they may only take a hand or two.

Taxation

Living in this city is seen as an honor by many, but taxes are still gathered by the nobility's taxmen for 250Valich a week.

Industry & Trade

Noriiv focuses on their silver and gold mines found at the base of Mount Knuckles. But they trade the poorly made armor and equipment to neighboring kingdoms, as well as the southern kingdom past the Yielding Main. Keeping the high end gear to themselves.

History

Bends Guardian failed to protect Norigon Corvus in 538nf, and being the only surviving member of the Corvus family, Darwin made it his primary goal to build a settlement that could not be penetrated. Thus erecting Noriiv in 588nf.

Geography

The large mountain range of Mount Knuckles to the west of the settlement ensures no enemy can sneak up on its inhabitants, while the beautifully bent river, appropriately named Norosks Bend protects the city from the north, east, and southeast, which flows directly into the great lake of Norosk Gift allowing the city stunning views to the south.
