Greyhull

Greyhull is completely different from any city in Nortunem. It is built around the hull of a shipwreck that landed on the islands of The Black Isles in roughly 403nf. It is unknown the exact year the fleet of ships crashed into the black stone of these islands, for the sailors who survived couldn't keep track of time. The aroma of a mix of saltwater, wood oils, and fish fill the entire city. Greyhull is mostly entirely built up from wood, besides the foundations. The harsh storms that hit the islands leave the buildings and streets weathered, almost a grey stain on the wood. The Black Isles are a closed community, besides the occasional drifters and banished individuals who seek a new life.

Government

Laws

The High Council of Black Isles resides in Greyhull, and all criminals are brought to this council to be put on trial. From there, a proper sentence is given depending on the severity of the crime.

Taxation

Everyone in Greyhull, and other Black Isles towns is equal in the eyes of the High Council. The rich, and the poor all get taxed 350Vlich.

Industry & Trade

Greyhull thrives off of selling ships, whether they are military vessels or merchant ships. Prices are marked up 400% for every kingdom besides Shivour. Members of The High Council seem to be great friends with Darwin Corvus, the king of Shivour, yet there is no official alliance. They also have a decent fish trade, but not the best on the continent.

History

Greyhull was built around 403nf after a fleet of unknown origin crashed into the dark jagged rocks of The Black Isles. The High Council was established around 410nf once the city started to grow.

Geography

The shipwreck hull rests on the edge of the sharp ebony rocks that make up half of the main island, while the rest of the city is built out in the sandy grass area of the other half. The edge of the main continent of Nortunem can just almost be seen to the north coast on a clear day.
